Have you shopped at Ruby’s yet? Have you even heard about it?!
This post isn’t about Ruby’s but about the people who created this video. Double Jump Media is a video production company who service businesses and organizations that operate without an in-house video team. After catching up with Ben Clayton, founder of Double Jump, it’s clear that they are doing something right.
“We answer the phone.”
Simple enough, right? When you ask Ben about the best advice he’s received in terms of starting a business, he talked about things like treating people right, developing genuine connections, and putting the customer first. This simple mantra has allowed Double Jump to land projects for national brands like Forbes, BNSF Railway, and DIY Network in addition to prominent local companies such as Murney Associates, Redneck Trailer Supplies, and Pyramid Foods.
As of right now, things are trending up for Double Jump but it wasn’t always like this.
“I started off working as a freelance videographer and things just didn’t work. Out of necessity, I transitioned into a full time job but after having a taste of working for myself I absolutely hated it. I decided to try my hand again at video production but this time, building a company instead of a freelance career. Eventually, business grew to where I could leave my job and focus on Double Jump full-time.”
Double Jump’s ascent started out in the corner of his guest bedroom, moved to the coworking space at The eFactory, and then into one of the private offices. This space has allowed Ben to grow his company to 4 people and have the ability to tackle new projects with increased efficiency.
