About Lowe’s
You know we love a good entrepreneurial success story. The first Lowe’s store opened in 1921 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Founder Lucias Smith Lowe called it Lowe’s North Wilkesboro Hardware – and the rest is history.
The company went public in 1961 and was acquired by Eagle Hardware & Garden company in 1999. Today Lowe’s is the 2nd largest home improvement store chain in North America with more than 2,000 stores and 300,000 employees.
Locally Lowe’s operates two stores with a leadership team that’s excited to become involved with the efactory and our clients.
