Cheryl Combs

Assistant Director, Student Employment Services

Cheryl Combs serves as Assistant Director, Student Employment Services at Missouri State University. This position manages the SES office, providing student employment opportunities to both on campus departments and Springfield community employers.

The SES office also manages Missouri State University’s Federal Work- Study Program and oversees the Leaders in Community Service Program, in which students work at community non-profit organizations.

She has 35 years of experience in the areas of employment development and Human Resources. Prior to joining MSU in 2014, Cheryl held the position of Director of Human Resources at Fort Scott Community College and served as a Project Manager for a Fortune 500 Company.

Cheryl hosted a regional MASEA conference at MSU as well as co-directed and presented at regional and national Student Employment Association conferences.

Cheryl is a Business Administration graduate of Ottawa University. She is a graduate of MSU’s University Staff Ambassador Program and serves as a Bear Connection Mentor.

Cheryl’s love of the job comes from helping others grow in their positions through professional and personal mentorship; problem solving by identifying and implementing new initiatives, and creating a culture of community.

Cheryl enjoys spending time with family, travelling, and being outdoors.
