The eFactory Celebrates Success and Second Birthday at First Friday Art Walk

The eFactory will be celebrating its second birthday as part of First Friday Art Walk on Friday, May 1st from 5-7 pm at The eFactory (405 N. Jefferson Ave. Springfield, MO 65806). It is also the debut of a partnership with the Springfield Regional Arts Council with artwork on display from local artists Stephanie Cramer, Alicia Farris and Jeff Broekhoven.

The eFactory, a Missouri State University program, is a technology-focused entrepreneurship center. Clients of The eFactory are provided with access to office space with flexible leases, business services and equipment, technology support, mentoring and consulting.

The eFactory officially turned two on March 15th and has become the hub of entrepreneurship in southwest Missouri. Since opening its doors, The eFactory has experienced tremendous growth. The building opened with five clients employing 15 people and now has more than 25 companies employing over 90 people. “It’s exciting to see the real economic impact from additional jobs created, increased revenue and capital investment that our clients are generating,” said Brian Kincaid, Director of The eFactory.

Springfield recently ranked as the 3rd best city in the nation to start a business and 1st for access to recources by a study published by personal finance site WalletHub. “This ranking confirms the progress we have made in just two years toward developing an ecosystem and culture surrounding entrepreneurship in Springfield, and we will continue to cater resources and programming to meet the needs of our community,” said Kincaid.

The eFactory recently announced a seed capital fund with initial investments from RMI and the Missouri State Foundation to create an accelerator to help early stage startups with access to capital and additional resources to grow their companies.
