COVID-19 Response

The efactory and Missouri State University are taking the COVID-19 pandemic very seriously. The health and safety of our members and employees is our top priority. We will continue to take whatever steps necessary to ensure we are doing our part to keep our community healthy.

We will continue to provide updates below and to communicate with members in real-time. Please contact with any questions.

What You Can Expect in the Building

COVID-19 Policies

We are following Missouri State University's policies surrounding COVID-19 testing and precautions. If you or a member of your team tests positive, you must notify immediately.

Individuals who are awaiting results of a COVID-19 test may not come to the efactory.

All individuals should take precautions to mitigate the spread of coronavirus, including:

  • Frequent hand washing with soap and water or with hand sanitizer
  • Maintain at least 6 feet of distance from others
  • Cover coughs and sneezes

Individuals may not come to the efactory if they have experienced any of the following:

  • Have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days
  • Have had close contact within the last 14 days with a known COVID-19 positive person
  • Have had any of the following symptoms of COVID-19 within the last 14 days that is unexplained:
    • fever,
    • cough,
    • shortness of breath,
    • chills,
    • repeated shaking with chills,
    • muscle pain,
    • headache,
    • sore throat,
    • new loss of taste or smell.

Such individuals will not be permitted to return to campus unless and until they have undergone testing for COVID-19 more than two days after their potential exposure to the virus, received results indicating that they are negative for COVID-19 infection, and provided documentation of such results. Alternatively, an individual may present documentation from a health care provider indicating that they have been approved to return to campus.

Individuals may not return to the efactory within 14 days of international travel unless they have received approval from a health care provider to return to campus or tested negative for COVID-19. The test must be given more than two days after returning to the United States.

Face Masks
  • Missouri State University's mask policy states that face masks are required in all common areas at the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center (hallways, The Perch, kitchens, conference rooms, restrooms, etc.).
  • Clients and staff establish their own policies for their private offices.
  • Disposable masks are available at the front desk inside the Business Suite for visitors who do not have a mask.
  • If you cannot wear a mask please contact us and we will work with you and Missouri State University to find a solution.
Building Access
  • Exterior doors will be open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. beginning August 3, 2020.
  • Private office members, coworking members, and staff may access the building 24/7 via access card. Others must make an appointment.
  • Appointments are strongly encouraged versus walking in for help or services. Please email or call 417-837-2600.
  • All visitors must be escorted by a client or check in at the front desk inside the business suite.
Conference & Training Rooms
  • Conference rooms have been reconfigured to provide more space per person.
  • We recommend no more than the following number of people in each room:
    • Nietzel Family Conference Room: 7
    • Biz 417 Conference Room: 5
    • Frazier Family Conference Room: 5
    • BKD Seminar Room: 19
    • CoxHealth Innovation Room: 25
  • We recommend reserving conference rooms through the Teem mobile or desktop app rather than touching the iPads outside each room. Let us know if you need us to resend your Teem account activation email.
  • We suggest leaving conference room doors propped open (NOT building exterior doors) whenever practical.
  • Members are encouraged to sanitize items like the table, chairs and door handles before and after using conference rooms.
  • The BKD Seminar Room, CoxHealth Innovation Room, and The Perch must be reserved by emailing Requests are being reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure physical distancing and proper sanitation between use.
Phone Rooms
  • The building’s phone rooms remain accessible via access card.
  • We recommend no more than one person in a phone room at one time.
  • No more than one person should ride in the elevator at one time.

Mail & Package Delivery
  • Delivery personnel have access to the building to drop off mail and packages.
  • Incoming and outgoing mail boxes are located at the front desk inside the business suite.
Events & Programming
  • Free Fridays are suspended until further notice.
  • Please check our calendar for upcoming event information. Feel free to contact with questions about specific events or programs.
Food & Meals
  • We discourage serving food during meetings inside the efactory.
  • If food is to be served, we strongly recommend individually prepared meals or a staffed buffet. Chartwells is offering many contactless catering options.
  • The building’s shared kitchens remain accessible to clients.
  • Refill your water bottle using the touchless stations at the water fountains.
  • Air pots should be disinfected between use. Instructions for disinfecting the pots are posted in the Business Suite kitchen.
  • If your office is a heavy coffee drinking office, we encourage you to make an air pot and bring it to your office for the day.
  • We have also made a Keurig available in the kitchen off of the atrium for single-cup coffees.
  • Weekly community tours are hosted each Friday at 10:00 a.m.
  • Weekly tours are currently capped at no more than five participants and registration is required.
  • Tour participants are expected to wear face masks and practice physical distancing.
  • Other tours may be arranged on a case by case basis by contacting
  • Appointments are strongly encouraged for anyone planning to visit the efactory. Please contact to schedule an appointment.
  • All visitors must be escorted by a client or check in at the front desk inside the business suite.
  • We strongly suggest clients host meetings with outside individuals virtually. If you have a guest who must come to the building, please be prepared to greet them at the front door for entry.
  • Daily cleaning and sanitation is continuing to happen in the building.
  • We have installed hands-free sanitizing stations throughout the building.
  • We have increased our supplies of disinfectant spray and wipes for use in public and common areas .
  • Sanitize commonly used surfaces and items within your workspace.
  • Signage can be found throughout the building to reinforce reminders about physical distancing, mask wearing, hand washing and other recommended measures.
Physical Distancing
  • Please respect physical distancing when in the building - we ask that all members and staff leave at least six feet between themselves and others at all times.
  • Seating and other furniture has been rearranged to encourage physical distancing in common areas.
  • Frequent hand washing and sanitizing is strongly encouraged.
  • All sinks are outfitted with soap and paper towels.
  • Sanitizer is available at several locations throughout the building.
Stay at Home
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • If you have had contact with someone confirmed with COVID-19, contact your doctor immediately.
  • Vulnerable populations should stay at home as much as possible and avoid social contact to reduce risk of exposure.
  • Regardless of current health, telework should be utilized whenever feasible.
Monitor Signs of Illness
  • If you are experiencing symptoms, contact a healthcare provider immediately.
  • If you, your employees, or any of your visitors to the efactory are diagnosed with COVID-19, notify efactory staff immediately so we can work with local health authorities to respond accordingly.
