Interview and Interrogation
This course will cover the following learning objectives:
- The investigator should do the following prior to an interview to prepare:
- Review available information
- Police reports
- Written statements
- Photographs of the crime scene
- Develop your skill to conceptualize the crime scene if you aren’t going to
work the scene.
- The investigator should ensure the following goals are met at before the start and ending of an interrogation:
- To obtain a truthful statement from the suspect
- Ensure that the procedures used in obtaining the statement allow it to
be admissible in criminal court. - Detailed statement that allows for corroboration.
