Oh, get ready to meet someone truly fantastic – our newest shining star on the efactory and Missouri SBDC at MSU team: Laura Anderson! Laura is stepping into a brand-new, super important role as our Training Specialist, and she’s here to support YOUR talent development and build the best experience for you.
Get to know Laura
Why Springfield? What makes it home? “I grew up in Springfield, Missouri, and I’ve chosen it more than once. It’s changed, and so have I. But it still feels like the right place to be. It’s familiar without being stagnant, close to the people who matter, and full of small things that make it feel like home.”
What’s your favorite thing about the Ozarks? “I’m not much for roughing it, but I do love the quiet beauty of the Ozarks. A still morning, a winding road, a familiar hill in the distance. My people are here. I spend a lot of time with my mom and grandma, and I’m raising my own kids here, too. There’s something grounding about staying close to your roots without getting stuck in them.”
What are you most excited about at efactory? “The people! I’m excited to be part of a team that’s doing meaningful work across so many sectors: small business, workforce development, and innovation. It’s energizing to be behind the scenes helping programs run well and watching ideas become action.”
What’s your superpower – personally or professionally? “I make complicated things feel clear and approachable. Whether it’s a system, a process, or a hard conversation, I can usually find the thread that helps people move forward.”
Favorite way to take your energy up a notch? “Good music and strong coffee. Preferably both at once!” (We totally agree, Laura!)
Anything else you’d like to share? “I’m a writer at heart and a believer in starting over when you need to. Life’s messy, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be meaningful.”
