It’s Springfield Small Business Week! We’re celebrating all week long with free coworking and great events. We’re also shining a spotlight on some of our favorite small businesses.

Here at the efactory we’re honored to be home base for more than 40 great companies, including Added Innovation. Read on for our Q&A with co-founder Mark Whisler.

Added Innovation

We sat down with the team at Added Innovation to get their take on building a small business in Springfield, Missouri.

The team at Added Innovation has been working out of the efactory since the mid-2017. What started as one small office quickly became two. It wasn’t long before the two small offices were full. Today you can find them in one of our largest spaces in the building.

The team has grown from two to five and has no intention of slowing down. Read on to learn more.

Tell us about Added Innovation:

We provide consulting services in the following areas: NetFORUM, Cloud and Digital Transformation.

NetForum: We partner with large, non-profit associations on an enterprise association management software application called NetFORUM.

Cloud: We partner with clients to build applications or migrate entire data centers to the cloud.

Digital transformation: We work closely with clients to define a digital transformation strategy.  We assess offerings, build mobile and web applications and solve culture challenges to create success along the digital journey.

What’s your best advice for small businesses as they grow their teams?

“Every business, big or small, is a technology company. Technology is your key to growth, innovation and productivity.”

What have been some of the best resources that Added Innovation has taken advantage of as a small business?

Microsoft for Startups: Azure credits, software licenses, Office 365, and Dynamics 365.

Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce: MEWA for health and dental benefits.

What’s the best part about being an entrepreneur in Springfield, MO?

There are plenty of existing business models and mentors for startups and cultivating growth. Springfield helps foster a community that supports innovation and boosts productivity.

To make it better we need to continue to nurture ideas and improve state and local regulations to make it friendlier to small businesses.

Springfield Small Business Week

Springfield Small Business Week is part of the National Small Business Week and is designed to recognize small business owners and entrepreneurs in Springfield, MO.

More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create almost two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.

The efactory is proud to serve small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs through office space, coworking memberships, ongoing trainings, and business consultation in cooperation with the Small Business Development Center and Management Development Institute.
