For 40 years the America’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network has helped small business owners achieve the American dream of entrepreneurship.
This year on March 18, 2020 SBDC offices from around the country are coming together for one special day to celebrate their work, impact and most importantly, their clients – America’s small businesses.
With nearly 1,000 locations across the country, SBDCs provide local businesses and entrepreneurs with the resources needed to succeed.
Your Local SBDC
The Missouri Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Missouri State University (MSU) is a leading resource for startup and growing businesses. The Missouri Small Business Development Center helps businesses grow through coaching, training, and technical assistance with a goal to accelerate Missouri’s economy.
Through a partnership with University of Missouri Extension and funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration, the SBDC at MSU offers confidential, one-on-one consulting and training to current and prospective business owners and serves as part of the efactory’s business support programs. Our center serves 16 counties throughout southwest Missouri, with offices located in Springfield, Taney County and West Plains.
Helping Your Business Grow
We provide a variety of services including assistance with business planning, operational strategy, market research, financial management and more.
Last year our center assisted over 350 clients, providing over 5,600 hours of one-on-one coaching. We hosted over 80 training events throughout the region for over 920 attendees. Through these services we helped our clients start 22 new businesses, obtain more than $24.7 million dollars in loans and investments and grown their businesses to create over 240 new jobs. Our client companies also saw sales increase by more than $10 million, while retaining over 350 existing employees.
