Contender eSports Dominates Fast-Growing eSports Scene

Contender eSports has cracked the code for today’s gaming enthusiasts. Their high-tech centers bring people together for fun, fellowship, tournaments, skills development, in-person interaction and competition, all while enhancing the excitement of the ever-evolving esports phenomenon. Contender’s locations create a fun environment in which to play video games with friends, promote meaningful relationships, and help expose esports and video gaming enthusiasts to career opportunities that can connect passion with purpose.

Founder Brett Payne, alongside his team, have started and franchised more than 20 Contender eSports Local Area Network (LAN) Centers across the globe – with locations ranging from Canada to Saudi Arabia to the United States – and they’re showing no signs of slowing down.

Growing Contender eSports in the Midwest and Beyond

Two new Contender eSports Centers are set to come to the midwest by the end of this year, including a facility in Cape Girardeau and one across the Mississippi River in Paducah, Kentucky. Other locations opening soon include:

  • Tulsa, OK
  • Ft Collins, CO
  • Gilbert, AZ
  • Mankato, MN
  • Montreal, Quebec
  • Reno, NV
  • Cumberland Crossing, GA

Growing the network of physical locations is only one part of Contender’s growth strategy. The company also recently acquired online tournament company American Gaming Network (AGN), which will continue to run online events and bring large offline events to Contender eSports centers.

The World's Fastest-Growing Form of Entertainment

Think all this gaming is only for a small audience? Think again. Gaming is the world’s fastest-growing form of entertainment. Globally, revenues have been growing at a rate of nearly 10% each year.

And while many industries saw massive disruptions during the pandemic, gaming and esports continued to thrive. Rather than experiencing a downturn, the segments posted an impressive 11.4% growth in global viewership year over year, bringing the current audience to some 26.6 million people across the globe.
