A Taste of Afghanistan Comes to Branson

Meet Ali Eftekhari and Bamyan Kabob.

At efactory, there’s nothing we love more than watching dreams take root and flourish  — especially when they’re seasoned with hard work, heart and just the right blend of spices.

Meet Ali Eftekhari, the proud owner of Bamyan Kabob, a vibrant new Afghani kabob shop in Branson, Missouri. After arriving in the United States in 2021, Ali and his wife decided to share the rich flavors of their homeland with their new community. In September 2024, they officially opened their doors — and their hearts — to Branson locals and tourists alike.

Launching a business in a new country isn’t easy, but Ali wasn’t alone. Through the Missouri SBDC at MSU, he connected with our very own Amy Jackson.

“She is a wonderful, kind and amazing woman,” Ali says. “Miss Amy helped us so much with our business plan, advertising — everything.”

Armed with a solid plan and a menu full of bold, aromatic dishes, Bamyan Kabob quickly captured the hearts (and appetites) of its customers. What started as a simple menu of authentic kabobs and Afghan specialties has blossomed, drawing fans not just from Branson, but from Independence, Kansas City, Lebanon and even Little Rock, Arkansas.

Ali credits their five-star success to three things: a strong business plan, incredible food (thanks to his wife’s extraordinary cooking) and hands-on management.

“When we visited Branson, we saw beautiful city, lovely people — we knew this was the place,” he says.

With plans to expand the menu and grow the team — thanks to an introduction from Amy to the team at Taney County Partnership — Bamyan Kabob’s future is as bright and flavorful as its sizzling kabobs.

We’re proud to be a part of Ali’s journey and can’t wait to see what’s next.

Visit Bamyan Kabob at 1819 W 76 Country Blvd, Branson, MO — and taste the love yourself!
