Tara Horton is the Assistant Director, Training and Development and a 26+ year employee of Missouri State University.
Prior to joining the university in February of 2000, Tara’s previous work experience includes media sales, marketing, advertising and public relations. Tara is a graduate of Oklahoma State University.
Tara serves as a member of the Ozark Region Workforce Development Board and its State of the Workforce Committee. She previously served on the Ozark Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America as the Executive Board’s Vice President of Marketing. Tara is also a Springfield Little Theatre Education Angel and volunteer, a Missouri State Bear Connection Mentor and a 2004 graduate of Missouri State's University Staff Ambassadors.
In addition, Tara is the Staff Advisor for Missouri State's Alpha Chi Omega social sorority and an active member of Theta Kappa Theta the Southwest Missouri Alumnae organization for Alpha Chi Omega. She is also a proud graduate of Leadership Springfield's Signature Class 41.
