Celebrating the Heart of efactory: Our Incredible Student Employees

Student employees are at the heart of what we do. They bring the energy, talent & dedication to everything they do & we wouldn’t want to imagine this place without them! Here’s a breakdown of our incredible student team:

  • Operations Assistants: Shuja Bhatti, Alyssa Kuzara, Alyson Massardo, Dibya Tamang, Shivani Tupdale, Caleb Waddell
  • Training Assistants: Allison Clements (GA), Brayden Seiler
  • SBDC Research GAs: Janelle Joswick, Nima Lal, Irene Ombura
  • Student Employment Receptionists: McKenna Taylor, Caroline Linberger
  • Marketing & Communications GA: Mia McDermott

Who Does What? Spoiler: They Do a Lot.

Our operations assistants take on a wide range of tasks that keep efactory moving like a well-oiled machine. They set up for meetings, events & training programs, & keep the building organized for everyone who visits. They’re also making sure that coffee supply of yours never reaches the bottom 😉

Our graduate assistants are absolute powerhouses. Some work behind the scenes, crunching numbers and conducting market research that helps small businesses grow smarter. Others are busy connecting clients and classes, creating real-world learning experiences for students while solving problems for business owners. It’s collaboration at its finest, and these GAs make it happen.

“My favorite part about my role is how often I get to learn new skills. I also get to work with a lot of different people with unique perspectives and businesses.” – Janelle Joswick, SBDC Research GA

Our student employment receptionists are true campus connectors. They help fellow students navigate new hire paperwork and match with jobs that fit their schedules, skills and goals.

“My favorite part about what I do is helping people find a job that works well for them,” Caroline Linberger shared. “Most students are stressed about finding a job, and I love getting to offer them advice and guidance as they seek future employment opportunities.”

McKenna Taylor added, “My favorite part about my role is getting to interact with students and help them find on-campus jobs. It is very rewarding to help students find a job that fits best for their schedule and skills.”

In honor of National Student Employment Week, We’ll be hosting the Student Employee of the Year Reception on April 16 to celebrate all of the talented nominees recognized by their employers.

April 13 – 19 is a week to celebrate the invaluable contributions student employees bring MSU departments & the Springfield community. Don’t forget to show them the love this week!
