Digital Evidence Seizure and Online Child Exploitation: Foundations and Case Analysis – 4 TS
This course provides law enforcement professionals with a comprehensive foundation in the identification, seizure, and preservation of digital evidence in cases involving online child exploitation. Participants will gain an understanding of the legal, technical, and procedural considerations guiding digital evidence collection, including best practices for search warrant preparation, mobile device handling, cloud-based data acquisition, and scene documentation.
Through real-world case analysis, students will explore offender behaviors, common platforms used to facilitate exploitation, investigative workflows, and strategies for collaborating with digital service providers. Emphasis is placed on maintaining evidentiary integrity, recognizing indicators of exploitation across digital environments, and applying trauma-informed approaches when working with victims.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the foundational skills and investigative insights necessary to effectively manage digital evidence and pursue child-exploitation offenders in today’s evolving online landscape.
