Dr. Ron Bogart will celebrate the launch of his newest book, A Heartbeat Away, a leadership story shaped by crisis, recovery and the realities of organizational succession, at Missouri State University’s efactory on May 22.
The event will bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs and community members in Springfield for a conversation with Bogart about the book and the leadership lessons behind it. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the author and purchase signed copies.
A Heartbeat Away explores two powerful questions: What happens when you wake up from open-heart surgery and see leadership differently? And what happens when someone is unexpectedly thrust into the CEO role during a sudden crisis?
Through storytelling and practical insight, the book examines how leaders and organizations respond when the unexpected happens. It also explores how preparation, trust and succession planning can determine whether a company thrives or struggles in moments of transition.
Bogart is CEO and board chair of Gold Mechanical, a multistate, employee-owned mechanical contracting firm headquartered in Springfield. Under his leadership, the company has more than doubled its revenue and tripled its ESOP share value, strengthening long-term financial returns for employee-owners while building a durable leadership culture.
Raised on a small Midwestern farm, Bogart began his entrepreneurial career in 1992 with the launch of his first business. He has since spent more than three decades leading organizations through growth, ownership transitions and long-term succession planning, including 30 years serving as CEO across multiple companies.
The book release and signing event at efactory will provide an opportunity for the local business community to hear Bogart discuss the inspiration behind A Heartbeat Away and the lessons it offers for leaders navigating uncertainty and change.
